Turning posts to gets and creating a whole new inbound link network

If you use the web developers toolbar you have the ability to turn website forms into inbound links by simply turning post forms to gets using the web developers toolbar.

What does this mean. What this means that is if you want to make a link on a .gov or basically any site with a search function you now have the ability to with a simple search some basic coding and the use of a post to get convertor.

It should say online matchamaking. Now all I need to do is point a link to this site in order for it to be spidered.
Now this is definetly a black hat technique and I am NOT suggestion to do this for SEO, I am merly uncovering a hole in the seo community that should be fixed before to many people exploit this.

Aaron walls just posted some great information about linking. I worked for one of the largest auto publication companies doing their link pop. I am familiar with all of these aspects but it dawned on me that not a lot of people are. In the spirit of sharing information I would like to pass on what I found on SEOBOOK.

Its 101 ways to build your links. Now doing this manually would probably be the best solution to a white hat site but if you want to go grey hat or black hat I would suggest getting a spammer built for social networking sites or even a spammer for link metor or link market.

I literally just stumbled upon stumbleupon.com.

This is a viral marketing toolbar which allows you to stumble upon related sites that you would be interested in. A recent survey from SEOmoz indicated a huge increase in traffic after using this toolbar.

The idea is that you add yourself to this program and you then are listed in the database for people to stumble upon.

Viral marketing is one of the most valuable forms of marketing because word of mouth has the most effect on a customers decision making.

Is your site not in googles index? Get re-included.

There have been many updates to googles algo and with the big daddy update many people have found their sites either in the supplemental results or now suddenly out of googles index.

Forget about sending google an email because that seldomly gets answered. It helps to have a contact over there so I would suggest that if you ever actually get in touch with someone directly to keep their email address. It should have a tracking code in the subject line for that email to find its way back to the person at google.

Like I said not everyone can get through but if you cant I think the best solution is to go here.

A web developers DREAM

Many SEO’s utilize web programers to do thy bidding. Weather we need a web scrapper, a stealth app, a spammer, SEO tools, cms and much much more. In order for us SEO’s to gain true power we harnes tools created by these develpores.

Search Engines have given us the ability to create and expand upon their code using what is known as an API. The initial and fundemental reason for api is to allow people to attempt to constantly improve the efforts of their search engine. Recently created new search algorithm by Ori Allon called “orion” utilized many api functions.

In order for us to manipulate the search rankings we use developers. Here are some great API sites for you to check out if you are interested in scrapping, spamming, monitoring etc.

Google (all APIs listed here):

• Search SOAP API
  - provides ranking results that are massively different from almost
  every datacenter. The information is often less than useless, it’s
  actually harmful, since you’ll get a false sense of what’s happening
  with your positions.
• AJAX Search API
  - This is really designed to be integrated with your website, and the
  results can be of good quality for that purpose, but it really doesn’t
  serve the job of providing good stats reporting.
• AdSense & AdWords
  APIs - In all honesty, we haven’t played around with these, but the
  fact that neither will report the correct order of the ads, nor will
  they show more than 8 ads at a time tells me that if a marketer needed
  this type of data, the APIs wouldn’t work.

Yahoo! (APIs listed here):

• Search API
  - Provides ranking information that is a somewhat accurate map to
  Yahoo!’s actual rankings, but is occassionally so far off-base that
  they’re not reliable. Our data points show a lot more congruity with
  Yahoo!’s than Google’s, but not nearly enough when compared with
  scraped results to be valuable to marketers and businesses.
• Site Explorer API
  - Shows excellent information as far as number of pages indexed on a
  site and the link data that Yahoo! knows about. We’ve been comparing
  this information with that from scraped Yahoo! search results (for
  queries like linkdomain: and site:) and those at the Site Explorer page
  and find that there’s very little quality difference in the results
  returned, though the best estimate numbers can still be found through a
  last page search of results.
• Search Marketing API - I haven’t played with this one at all, so I’d love to hear comments from those who have.

MSN:

• Doesn’t mind scraping as long as you use the RSS results.
  We do, we love them and we commend MSN for giving them out - bravo!
  They’ve also got a web search SDK program,
  but we’ve yet to give it a whirl. The only problem is the MSN
  estimates, which are so far off as to be useless. The links themselves,
  though, are useful.

Ask.com

• Though it’s somewhat hidden, the XML.Teoma.com
  page allows for scraping of results and Ask doesn’t seem to mind,
  though they haven’t explicitly said anything. Again, bravo! - the
  results look solid, accurate and match up against the Ask.com queries.
  Now, if Ask would only provide links

Wiki has become the largest human edited information site online. Wikipedia allows anyone to edit information on the site. The problem with this is that if enough people believe something then it could become a FACT according to WIKIPEDIA.

New Real Estate SERPs Refinement and a Disturbing Rumor about Google base

Alittle bird passed me a rumor today that I can neither confirm or deny,but it’s certainly worthy of discussion. The theory goes - whenlaunching a new site, buying a significant quantity of AdWords/AdSensefor the site is a good way to tell Google the site isn’t spam and avoidlong waits in the sandbox.

Here’s my take on this:

• There is some logic in the idea that a site buying searchadvertising will not be, at the least, a low-grade, scraper style site
• Gettinga new site approved with AdWords means that a quality rater issupposedly giving a manual review - perhaps this helps with sandboxing
• Thelogic that runs counter says that sandboxing is Google’s way ofpreventing new sites from getting free traffic, thus forcing them tobuy listings

While running some searches to investigate the phenomenon, Istumbled on what appears to be some new query refinements in the areaof real estate:

Note the location, property type, listing type and “remember thislocation” features offered. When I performed this search , I wasn’tlogged in, so any searcher should be able to get these results. Oddlyenough, when I pasted the URL from IE into Firefox, I no longer saw therefinement options. I went ahead and selected “for sale” and clicked”Go” and was brought to these results in Google Base:

How to use the NOODP tag to influence your search engine listings

If your web site is listed in the Open Directory Project (ODP, dmoz.org) then
Google and MSN will often use the text that the ODP uses to describe your web
site in their own search results.

Unfortunately, the descriptions in the Open Directory Project are often
outdated and they don’t reflect the current status of a web site. That means
that your web site might be listed with an outdated description in the search
results on Google and MSN.

How to get rid of the ODP description

Fortunately, there’s a way to tell Google and MSN not to use the ODP
description for your web site. You can direct Google and MSN not to use the ODP
as a source by adding a new Meta tag to your web pages.

To prevent all search engines (that support the Meta tag) from using the ODP
description for the page’s description, use the following HTML tag:

<META NAME=”ROBOTS” CONTENT=”NOODP”>

To specifically prevent Google from using this information for a page’s
description, use <META NAME=”GOOGLEBOT” CONTENT=”NOODP”>. If you
just want to prevent MSN from using the description, use <META
NAME=”msnbot” CONTENT=”NOODP”>.

Note that once you add this Meta tag to your pages, it may take some time
until a new description of your web page will appear in the search results of
Google and MSN.

You might wonder why Yahoo does not support the NOODP tag. Yahoo operates its
own directory so it does not need to pull the web page descriptions from the
ODP.

There are many more Meta tags that allow you to influence search
engines

In addition to the new NOODP tag, there are many more Meta tags that allow
you to influence how search engines handle your web pages.

For example, you can tell search engines where your business is located
(that’s useful for local search features), you can tell search engines if they
should index a web page or not and much more.
